The dictionary defines accident as an unexpected and undesirable event. Road accident is a global tragedy with ever-rising trend. In Malaysia it represents a major public problem because of high number of victims involved and also the seriousness of the consequences for the victim themselves and their families as well.
There are many causes of road accident. The main cause is the driver’s behavior. They like to drive like crazy people. They drive with high speed. They mostly do not comply with road rules and speed limits are set.
The second factor is the structure of the road. Most roads in the area we were not flat and hollow. This is because many large trucks through the area. Motorists may blame roadway design for accident.
Then, the third factor of road accident is weather. Inclement weather, including heavy rain, hail, snowstorms, ice, high winds and fog can make driving more difficult. You'll need more time to stop and may have trouble seeing the road clearly, so when the weather gets bad be sure to leave extra room between the cars in front of you and slow down. If necessary, pull off the road to a rest stop (or to the side of the road, well out of the traffic lanes) until conditions improve. As conclusion, we as road user should be more careful while using the road. Or otherwise we will become victim in the road accident.
